Simply the best for Chods and Stiffs: Gamakatsu Wide Gape Super

The Best for Chods and Stiff Rigs: Gamakatsu Wide Gape Super

By Saron Debets

The Wide Gape Super is a hook that I use often in my fishing. It is specially developed for fishing with stiff and chod rigs.

The Wide Gape Super is ideal in combination with stiff rig material.

These rigs are made of stiff rig material such as fluorocarbon. If used with a normal hook the opening between hook eye and point would be smaller and have less area for effectively hooking Carp.

On the right side you can see the Wide Gape Super with the hook eye pointed backwards

Thanks to the slightly backwards position of the hook eye, the stiff rig material leaves the eye at a larger angle creating a larger space between hook eye and point. This way the hook remains in its perfect hooking position and so for me this is the hook to use with Chods and Stiffs.

The chod is powerful technique that gives me great results!
